Lucknow is getting a new tourist attraction called the Kukrail Night Safari, which is being developed to promote eco-tourism in Uttar Pradesh. Inspired by the Singapore model, this project will become India’s first urban night safari, where visitors can see wildlife at night and experience nocturnal animals in a natural setting.
The Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Board (UPETB) is improving facilities inside the Kukrail Forest Area, which includes crocodile, gharial, and turtle sanctuaries. Many new amenities are being created to make visits comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
Under this project, a children’s park, play areas, adventure games, swings, an open gym, and nature walk trails are being developed. Visitors will be able to walk close to nature and see trees, plants, and birds along the Kukrail River. To protect the environment, eco-friendly round bamboo huts are also being built.
For visitor convenience, facilities like a cafeteria, toilets, and parking areas are being constructed within the forest area. The project is being developed at a cost of ₹2 crore, and construction work has already started. These facilities are expected to be ready soon, and tourists visiting in the coming months will be able to enjoy them.
Officials said this initiative will not only boost tourism but also help create jobs and income opportunities for local people, while offering visitors a safe, pleasant, and memorable wildlife experience.
